Area Council of the Year Award
The Area Council Of The Year Award is the highest honor an Area Council can receive. The winner is determined based on an Area Council's activities in their area (programming and advocacy initaitives), participation in and support of RHA events and initiatives, attendance at RHA meetings and participation in NRHH's Of The Month Award program.
The winner of the Area Council Of The Year Award is announced at the annual Leadership & Recognition Banquet, which takes place in April. The winning council receives a traveling trophy as well as a plaque for their area. RHA also has an Area Council Of The Year plaque in its office that lists of the winners of the award since its establishment in 2004/2005.
The area council with the highest accumulation of points will winner the title, Area Council of the Year. There are three ways that area councils can accumulate points through - the binder system, the points system, and through nominations. The binder system is a binder that outlines what the area council has done throughout the year. Nominations are also provided within the binder. These binders are due right before our banquet in the spring semester. The points system allows each area to gain points through program report submissions, RHA related events, as well as NRHH related events.
